Ole Miss football signs 3-star OL Cam East, former Mississippi State commit

Ole Miss football swooped in late to steal a recruit once committed to its archrival.

Cam East, a three-star offensive lineman from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, signed with Ole Miss on Wednesday during the early signing period. At 6-foot-7 and 280 pounds, East picked the Rebels over Mississippi State, which he decommitted from on Dec. 3 shortly after an in-home visit with Lane Kiffin.

In addition to Ole Miss and Mississippi State, East had reported scholarship offers from schools ranging from Georgia and Arkansas to TCU and Florida State.

As has been the case since Kiffin took over in Oxford, Ole Miss went heavy on offensive linemen in this class. The Rebels have commitments from or have signed three-star linemen Preston Cushman, Timi Gagophien and Bryson Hurst.
