Oley Valley loses to Camp Hill in District 3 Class 3A baseball semifinal

May 26—Oley Valley's baseball season ended with an 8-2 loss to top-seeded Camp Hill in a District 3 Class 3A semifinal Thursday at Camp Hill.

The fourth-seeded Lynx (14-9) gave up two runs in the first to the Lions, who will be making their fifth straight appearance in a district final. The previous four appearances have been in Class 2A, where Camp Hill won titles in 2018 and 2021.

After the Lynx cut it to 2-1 in the fourth, the Lions answered with two in the bottom of the inning and two in the fifth.

Oley made it 6-2 in the sixth, but Camp Hill again came back with two in the bottom of the inning.

For the Lynx, Paul Petersen went 3-for-3 with a run, Chase Reifsnyder had a double, and Colin Remmel and Nick Palmiotti each knocked in a run.

For the Lions, Luke Parise allowed two runs on six hits and four walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out seven. Dom Tozzi and Jonathan Drawbaugh each homered.

Camp Hill will play third-seeded Trinity in the final Tuesday, site and time to be announced. The Shamrocks beat seventh-seeded Annville-Cleona 9-2 in the other semifinal.

Greenwood 12, High Point 3: At Memorial Field, Hershey, the fourth-seeded Wildcats (12-6) took the lead for good with five runs in the second and defeated the second-seeded Eagles (12-11) to win their fifth straight District 3 Class 1A title.

High Point scored two runs in the bottom of the first to tie it, but Greenwood answered right back.

The Eagles, whose season ended with the loss, cut it to 7-3 in the third, but Wildcats scored a run in the fourth, three in sixth and one in the seventh.

Drew Hoffman was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Landon Richard went 2-for-3 with a run and Bradon Howe scored two runs for High Point, which had six hits.

Gavin Jones had five RBIs for Greenwood, including a three-run double in the second.

The Eagles also lost to the Wildcats in last year's semifinals and in the 2018 final.
