Oli London tackles gender, identity struggles in new memoir 'Detransition'

British influencer Oli London has announced the pre-release of his memoir, “Detransition,” on Friday.

London, 33, became known after undergoing nearly three dozen surgeries to resemble K-Pop idol and BTS member Jimin. He has since made headlines over other controversies, including marrying (and divorcing) a cardboard Jimin, self-identifying as a “Korean” woman and defending the idea of transracialism.

Last November, London revealed that he was “detransitioning” back to being a man, citing his Christian faith as a primary reason.

However, he maintained that he was “born in the wrong body” as he was born British “when it should have been Korean.”

The England-born personality has since advocated for detransition, speaking with U.S. conservative media outlets to slam the “radical agenda” of the “gender-affirming care system.”

He has also testified in front of the Washington state senate to oppose a bill that would provide accommodations for runaway minors seeking gender-affirming care — without having to inform their parents.

As per its press release, “Detransition: A Memoir” takes a look at “how one man’s struggles with self-identity and detransition lays challenge to the very foundations of the gender ideology movement.”

The book was available to pre-order Friday and hit No. 1 in several new release categories on Amazon.

Aside from documenting his personal experiences, London in his memoir “explores the root cause of the issue of trans ideology and gender identity, tackling the pressures of social media, the education system, media, and other factors that are pushing a growing number of young people into transitioning.”

The book also “examines laws, research, and data to help lift the lid on the multi-billion-dollar gender-affirming care industry.”

“I hope that my book helps the many young people struggling with their identity, helps parents who need advice and guidance and helps those needing faith in their life to never give up hope and know that God will always be there to guide his stray sheep like a shepherd,” London wrote in an Instagram post.

“Detransition: A Memoir,” scheduled for release on August 1, is available to preorder now.
