Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski on Monday announced he will not be running for U.S. Senate to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin. In a press conference from the Randallstown Community Center, Olszewski officially announced that he will not be running for the U.S. Senate seat that will be vacated by Cardin. He said he will be supporting Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in her bid for the position. Names such as U.S. Rep. David Trone, D-District 6, former Senate and gubernatorial candidate Jerome Segal, and Montgomery County Councilman Will Jawando have also entered the race.
