New Olympic offices in Montreal to be showpiece for sport, COC president says

OTTAWA - The Montreal headquarters of Canada's Olympic organization is set to become much more than an office.

The president of the Canadian Olympic Committee says it's going to be a showcase for sport.

Marcel Aubut says the new space — which the committee is receiving for free — will feature the Olympic rings on the building, a museum and a gift shop, as well as administrative space.

Aubut says the COC's Toronto offices will receive similar treatment once the Montreal project is complete.

Aubut has just been re-elected for a second term as the head of the committee.

He says that while his first term was about raising revenue, the second will be aimed at growing the sporting movement in Canada.
