Omaha woman killed in Sioux Falls t-bone crash identified

Oct. 24—SIOUX FALLS — An Omaha, Nebraska, woman has been identified as the person who died in the two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Oct. 20 northeast of Sioux Falls.

Authorities responded to reports at 8:59 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision approximately five miles northeast of Sioux Falls.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was eastbound on 258 Street when it failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with SD Highway 11. The vehicle collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse that was northbound on SD Highway 11.

Denise Barraclough, the 64-year-old driver of the Hyundai, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shanna Snyder, the 53-year-old driver of the Traverse, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to a Sioux Falls hospital. Jason Snyder, the 44-year-old passenger, received minor injuries. Both are from Edgerton, Minnesota.

All three people involved were wearing seatbelts.

South Dakota Highway Patrol will continue to investigate the crash. All information released thus far is only preliminary.
