Once-struggling Hartland heads into soccer districts on a roll

Hartland is heading into the state tournament playing its best soccer of the season.

The Eagles won their final game of the regular season, 6-0, over Wayne Memorial Monday night in a KLAA crossover.

Hartland is 3-0-3 in its last six games after starting the season 1-8-2. That streak includes a victory and tie over teams ranked in the top 10 in Division 1.

Goals by Garrett Woodbury, Brady Setlock and Evan Bryan gave Hartland a 3-0 halftime lead.

Ryan Price scored twice and Cameron Cheetham had the other goal in the second half.

Matt Preiss and Nolan Dunning shared the shutout.

Hartland will host East Lansing at 6 p.m. Thursday in a first-round district game. The winner will face the Grand Ledge-Holt winner at 7 p.m. next Tuesday at Hartland in the district semifinals.

Brighton 1, Livonia Stevenson 1

Ethan Cassar scored for Brighton (6-6-5), which will host Howell in a first-round district game at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sloan Field.

The winner will face Okemos at 5 p.m. next Tuesday at Hartland in the district semifinals.

Charyl Stockwell 4, Livingston Christian 1

Seth Campbell had one goal and two assists for Stockwell (10-9-3), which will travel to Byron at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a first-round district game.

David Wilson scored twice and Joe Vance once for the Sentinels. Stockwell goalie Joe Carey made eight saves.
