One of the founding members of The Beach Boys, Al Jardine, brings the group’s hits to the Gallo Center for the Arts. It’s just one of many entertainment options planned for the Modesto region from Feb. 17-23.

Al Jardine

Co-founding member of The Beach Boys Al Jardine brings “The Family & Friends Tour” to the Gallo Center. He is joined on stage by Carnie and Wendy Wilson of Wilson Phillips. They are the daughters of Brian Wilson, who co-founded The Beach Boys with Jardine. The show also features Jardine’s son Matt Jardine, who toured with The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson.

Tex Beneke Orchestra

A tribute to Glenn Miller and Tex Beneke will showcase their classic hits. The Tex Beneke Orchestra will be joined by Miller vocal group The Modernaires for the show at the Gallo Center. Included will be classics such as “In the Mood,” “String of Pearls” and “Tuxedo Junction,” as well as swing tunes like “Little Brown Jug” and “American Patrol.” The show also features “Chatanooga Choo Choo,” “Kalamazoo,” “Elmer’s Tune” and “Moonlight Cocktail.” Frank Sinatra impersonator Sebastian Anzaldo also will perform, with bandleader Gary Tole hosting the show.

MALEVO

MALEVO, an all-male group from Argentina that presents Malambo traditions with urban percussion and dance, will perform at the Gallo Center. “Testing strength, dexterity and agility, elements of flamenco, tango and Irish stepdance meet and the result is a performance that not only pushes the Malambo style beyond its limits but gives audiences an extraordinary visual and sensory theatrical experience unlike any other,” according to the center’s website.

The Ten Tenors

Australia’s The Ten Tenors return to the Gallo Center, celebrating the group’s greatest hits with a new show. The tour features the most requested songs the Tenors have performed across their 28-year history. The group crosses genres including opera, pop, rock and more.

“This Land Is Our Land”

Martha Redbone and the American Patchwork Quartet bring their “This Land Is Our Land” show to the Gallo Center. American roots performer Redbone is known for her mix of folk, blues and gospel from her childhood. American Patchwork Quartet plays a repertoire of centuries-old American folk songs that highlight the nation’s immigrant roots.

Seger tribute

Classic Seger: Bob Seger’s Greatest Hits Live comes to the State Theatre. The tribute band performs renditions of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band’s greatest hits, including “Night Moves,” “Turn the Page,” “Against the Wind,” “Old Time Rock & Roll” and more.

Pacific Mambo Orchestra

Grammy Award-winning Latin big band Pacific Mambo Orchestra will play a fundraising concert that also features the Johansen High School Jazz Band at the State Theatre. Johansen’s band program is raising money to send members along with band students from its special education department to perform at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The high school band program starts at 6 p.m. with some members of Pacific Mambo joining for part of the set. Pacific Mambo will start at 7 p.m.

“Godzilla”

Cabaret

The Stanislaus Arts Council presents “Moody Moments in in Music: The possibilities for String Quartet by Synergy” at the Mistlin Gallery. Synergy Chamber Players is an ensemble collective that performs a diverse repertoire of music. Tickets include refreshments and dessert. Wine will be available for purchase. All funds raised go to support the Stanislaus Arts Council.

Sierra Repertory

“The Play That Goes Wrong” is the latest production from Sierra Repertory Theatre. The show “takes place on opening night of the Sonora Theater Drama Society’s (a local amateur theater troupe) newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous,” a press release said. On Feb. 17, SRT will hold its season-opening celebration beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are $125 and include food, drinks, an onstage auction and the opening night performance.
