One Class at a Time: Connie Combs
This week’s One Class At A Time Winner is an amazing teacher who has a passion for teaching.
Connie Combs is a Pre-K teacher at Double Churches Elementary School. Her nominator is a students’ grandmother who says that Mrs. Combs is a great teacher to her students. Mrs. Combs plans on using the grant money to purchase more books, math manipulatives, and art supplies for her students.
“Oh my gosh. I started off as a para and my heart was still in teaching. I wanted to have my own class, and the littles…” said Combs. “The four-year-olds are everything to me. I don’t want to teach another level. This is where my heart is. And it’s just, I feel like it’s my calling and my purpose. And so that’s why I do what I do, because I love the kids.”
Mrs. Combs wins a 300-dollar grant from Five Star Painting.
