One day only: $3 movie tickets and deals on popcorn and drinks in Phoenix Labor Day weekend

National Cinema Day is this weekend and the newly launched celebration is here for one day only.

Theaters in metro Phoenix and across the country will offer $3 movie tickets all day on Saturday, Sept. 3. There are one-day-only deals on snacks, too.

Harkins Theatres is among the chains that will observe National Cinema Day.

“For 89 years, we have been proud to provide our guests with the ultimate moviegoing experience,” Dan Harkins, owner of Harkins Theatres, said in a news release. “We are thrilled to celebrate our love of cinema on National Cinema Day and show our appreciation to our loyal guests with these amazing special offers.”

Films showing at select theaters include "DC League of SuperPets," "The Invitation," "Top Gun: Maverick," "Bullet Train" and "Three Thousand Years of Longing," among others.

Harkins Theatres

Harkins Awards members can get $3 medium popcorn and $3 medium drinks on Sept. 3. The loyalty program is free and guests can sign up online.

AMC Theatres

All movies at AMC, including IMAX, will cost $3. Guests can also purchase a popcorn and drink "cameo combo" for $5.

Cinemark

Movies are $3 at Cinemark, too, for all movies and formats including Cinemark XD, IMAX, D-BOX and 3D.

Other discounts include $3 medium fountain beverage or Icee, $3 candy and $3 small popcorn. A large popcorn costs $4.
