One dead, another injured in vehicle collision with parked big rig in Tracy

One man was killed and another injured when a car crashed into a big rig at the intersection of Patterson Pass and Schulte roads on Tuesday, the Tracy Police Department reported.

Multiple 911 calls reporting the collision came in at about 4:37 p.m. on Tuesday, Tracy police said. Witnesses reported that the victims were trapped inside of the vehicle.

The road was was closed as South County Fire Authority worked to remove the victims from the vehicle.

Tracy police said the driver, a 22-year old male from Manteca, was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. The passenger, a 19-year-old male, was also transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

According to police, the vehicle occupied by the two victims was turning when it went out of control and struck a parked semi-truck and loaded trailer.
