One dead in Augusta County crash, another injured

WEYERS CAVE — Virginia State Police said one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Augusta County early Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 7 a.m., troopers responded to a crash near Sulfur Pump Road and Weyers Cave Road, police said.

One motorist was killed and another was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash remains under investigation.
