One dead after downtown Lansing shooting Sunday night

LANSING — A 48-year-old man was shot to death in Reutter Park in downtown Sunday evening, Lansing police said.

Police said Lewis Hill, of Lansing, was killed about 8:52 p.m. Sunday. Police are still seeking a suspect in the case, but don't believe the shooting was random.

"This is an active investigation," LPD spokesperson Jordan Gulkis said in a press release. "Police are working to determine the sequence of events and the details of the incident."

At about 8:52 p.m., police were dispatched to 400 S. Capitol Ave. after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Hills and Lansing Fire Department medics provided first aid before the man was take to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other information was provided in a Monday afternoon update.
