One dead in fiery I-91 crash

Aug. 15—EAST WINDSOR — One person has died in a collision involving a tractor-trailer on Sunday night.

Warehouse Point firefighters responded to a crash on Interstate 91 involving a tractor-trailer around 11:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene, both the tractor-trailer and car were on fire.

Warehouse Point Fire Chief James Barton said the fire was fuel fed and it took around 30 minutes to extinguish.

The driver of the car, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Khylill Walker of Winston Salem, North Carolina, was transported to Hartford Hospital with apparent minor injuries.

The highway opened around 6:30 a.m. today, but the off-ramp at Exit 44 remained closed, Barton said.
