Two dead following quadruple shooting in Seventh Ward

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a quadruple shooting in the Seventh Ward that left two people dead.

According to officers, the shooting happened at the corner of AP Tureaud Avenue and North Roman Street.

Around 1 p.m. on Friday, March 22, officers say they responded to a call of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they said four people were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Woman’s death deemed suspicious in Tangipahoa Parish

Chief Deputy Superintendent Hans Ganthier said in a news conference that someone in a white pickup truck pulled up to the location and started shooting, striking four people standing on the corner.

Ganthier said one man was pronounced dead on the scene while the others were taken to a hospital for treatment where the second person died from their wounds.

The condition of the remaining victims was not released.

The ages and identities of the victims are not known at this time. No further details are available.

On Monday, March 25, the Orleans Parish coroner identified the victims who were killed as 64-year-old Reginald Thompson and 56-year-old Farrell Davis.

Officials with Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans announced that an award of up to $5,000 will be given to tipsters with information on the shooting.
