One person is dead and at least one more was seriously injured after a four-vehicle crash Tuesday on Colo. 93 just south of Boulder.

Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Troy Kessler said the crash was reported at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday at mile marker 15 of Colo. 93, near the intersection of Colo. 93 and Marshall Road.

Kessler said four vehicles were involved in total, a 2017 Chevy Equinox, a 2019 Nissan Nissan NV200 van, a 2012 Toyota sedan and a 2021 Tesla.

Kessler said the driver of the Equinox, a 31-year-old woman from Denver, died. Kessler said it was not clear if the woman was declared dead at the scene or died after being transported.

The driver of the Tesla, a 50-year-old woman from Superior, suffered serious injuries, while the driver of the Nissan van suffered minor injuries. Kessler said the driver of the Toyota was also transported to the hospital, but the extent of her injuries was not known.

A passenger in the Toyota was uninjured.

Kessler said details of the crash were not yet available.

Emergency crews shut down Colo. 93 between Greenbriar Boulevard and Eldorado Springs Drive until about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday while investigators responded and the four vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the driver who died.
