One dead after motorcycle crash on Riverwatch Parkway in Augusta

A motorcyclist died Sunday on Riverwatch Parkway after crashing on the overpass west of Broad Street.

David Belk, 31, of Sardis, was traveling westbound on Greene Street and crossed Broad Street when his motorcycle crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene following the single-vehicle wreck, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. The coroner's office could not provide the cause of the accident.

Traffic division units had to block a westbound lane on the lower end of Riverwatch Parkway while investigating, resulting in a traffic delay. It is unclear how long the lane was blocked, according to the coroner's office.
