One dead, one airlifted in Bradford County car crash

FRANKLIN TWP, Pa. (WETM) — One man is dead and another was seriously injured after an early morning car crash in Bradford County, state police confirmed on Thursday.

According to a release by Pennsylvania State Police, 81-year-old Warren Strout of Canton, Pa. died after going off the roadway on state Route 414 and crashed into trees around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. Police say that Strout was having a medical emergency at the time of the crash but did not specify what it was.

Police say the Strout and a passenger were in the vehicle going east on state Route 414 just west of Monroe when he crossed the westbound lane, went off the road, and into the trees.

Emergency crews were able to remove Strout from the vehicle where they later pronounced him dead while taking him to Towanda Memorial Hospital by EMS.

Police say that the passenger received serious injuries in the crash and needed to be airlifted by Guthrie Air to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, the current status of the passenger is unknown at this time.
