A shooting in the Bella Vida at Shadow Hills gated community in Indio on Saturday left one person dead and three injured.

Indio Police Department spokesperson Benjamin Guitron said police responded to reports of gunfire on the 41-900 block of Napoli Street at around 12:04 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, they found a male adult with gunshot wounds who was declared dead at the scene.

Guitron said three females who also had gunshot wounds, including a juvenile shot in her thigh, were transported to the local hospital and treated for non-life threatening wounds.

The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification to his family.

It's unknown what led to the altercation, which occurred at a graduation party within the gated community, Guitron said.

"Our detectives are still in the neighborhood," Guitron said on Saturday afternoon. He asked that anyone with information call Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-391-4051.
