One dead after shooting in Pueblo, marking first homicide of 2022

One woman is dead after a shooting in Pueblo on Jan. 14.

According to a Pueblo Police Department press release, police were dispatched to Dollar General at 818 E. 4th St. at approximately 8 p.m. Jan. 14 in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female gunshot victim dead on the scene.

Police say the suspect, who is described as a muscular white or Hispanic male last seen wearing dark gray jacket, dark gray baseball hat, red undershirt, gray shoes with white trim on the bottom, chased the victim from the parking lot into the store while he was shooting at her.

The suspect appeared to have targeted the victim.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office when appropriate notifications have been made.
