One Dead as Violent Winds Blow Sand Across Beaches in Northern France

One person was killed and several injured after sudden strong gusts of wind hit the coast of northern France on Saturday, June 18, local media reported.

Le Parisien, citing the Calvados prefecture, reported that a 31-year-old male kitesurfer died after a strong gust threw him into the window of a restaurant in Villers-sur-Mer. Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
