One Fan Caught the Chemistry Between Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott Before Anyone

In the realm of frivolous-things-to-distract-you-from-whatever-stresses-are-plaguing-your-everyday-life-news, one big dose of celebrity gossip has been reverberating throughout the echo chamber of the internet: Jonathan Scott, star of the Property Brothers, co-author of the Builder Brothers children's book series, illusionist, and Man Who Turned Down the Bachelor Thrice, is no longer single.

And he isn't dating your typical girl-next-door—honey, this isn't a Hallmark movie!—he's dating the New Girl herself: Zooey Deschanel, Emmy- and Golden Globes-nominated actress, She & Him singer-songwriter, Almost Famous scenestealer, rocker of the best bangs in Hollywood. Or, at least, a slew of photos obtained by Hollywood Life suggest that they're a couple, as they were seen holding hands (!) and eating dinner together at a place whose name alone reeks of capital-R Romance: Little Dom's. C'mon, people—you don't take a friend to a place that serves $21 sandwiches, even if your burgeoning lifestyle empire raked in $500 million last year.

Deschanel and Scott haven't officially confirmed their relationship status—beyond Jonathan saying he's "seeing someone" and that it caught him "a little off guard"—multiple entertainment sites have cited sources close to...uh, one of the stars that suggest the relationship's new and they're having fun. Which makes sense, given the two first got to know each other while filming an upcoming episode of Carpool Karaoke. In the show, Jonathan and his twin brother, Drew Scott, will be driving around, singing their hearts out against (alongside?) Zooey and her sister, Emily Deschanel.

"It’s sometimes a little weird when you just get thrust on camera with people you’ve never met before, but we just clicked," Jonathan said.

They. Just. Clicked.

All of this speculation about their romance comes after that Little Dom's sighting, but one fan noticed something was going on a whopping five weeks before the tabloids. After filming Carpool Karaoke, Zooey took to Instagram, sharing a Boomerang of Jonathan, Drew, Emily and herself in front of the car. She and Jonathan are dancing, while Drew and Emily stand nearby. "One of us was very excited about taping @carpoolkaraoke yesterday. Maybe two of us," she captioned it.

Right away, a fan noticed something about their dance moves: "I’m sorry but was he checking your tush out? Lol," the user commented, spotting their chemistry long before the rest of us.

Jonathan also Instagrammed a few photos from the day: "Met some new humans today. We had fun. I think I’ll keep them," he wrote.

Jonathan's previously said his soulmate is someone who loves animals. "I don't trust people who don't like dogs," he said. It's fitting, then, that Zooey's been vocal about how much she adores her two rescue pups, Dot and Zelda.

The signs were all there, guys. THEY WERE ALL THERE, AND WE WERE TOO BLINDED BY POLITICS, CLIMATE CHANGE, AND THE ETERNAL, INTERNAL DEBATE OVER WHETHER OUR FACE SHAPE IS MORE 'ROUND' OR 'OVAL' TO TAKE NOTE.*
