Echoes of winter basketball glory still tinkle softly into the offseason on the chimes of postseason glory.

A handful of area prepsters enjoyed one final encore in the public dominion by sharing in Oklahoma Secondary Activities Association Boys All-State related kudos.

The OSSAA recently announced both its seniors-only All-Stars-By-Class and All-State teams. The All-Star list is a preliminary step to earning the All-State spotlight.

Two Bartlesville hoop warriors, Aadhi Ayyappan and Michael Smith III, landed on the Class 6A All-Stars team — awarded to only 12 players from throughout the 32 6A teams in the state.

Dewey was represented by Colby Miller on the Class 4A All-Star team.

Oklahoma Union’s Kaide Hill helped fill out the Class 2A All-Star team.

None of the area athletes were elevated to All-State.

Ayyappan started in three-plus teams for the Bruins. He made an immense impact on every part of the game. HIs play on defense could arguably be ranked as among the tops in Bruin history. Ayyappan also averaged 12.8 points scoring per game this past season.

Smith played Bruin varsity ball only one season after he transferred from another program. But, he still created his niche to help the Bruins fight for success and he poured in 9.9 ppg.

Miller dialed in 13.1 ppg for Dewey, which powered to double digit wins for the second-straight season.

Hill provided a spark of energy and production to help Oklahoma Union make another impressive postseason run. As a sophomore and junior he added fuel to the flames of power Oklahoma Union spewed forth to win a state title (2020-21) and a state tournament sport (2021-22).
