One hospitalized after crashing vehicle into tow truck

Aug. 10—One person was sent to the hospital after crashing their vehicle into a tow truck on Tuesday evening.

The crash occurred at the 2600 block of Duncan Street around 5:30 p.m.

The St. Joseph Police Department said a Toyota Prius was trying to pass a white Jeep while driving down Duncan Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and scraped the side of another white Jeep and white Volkswagen on the right side of the street.

The driver then ran into the back right of the tow truck. At the time of the crash, the Prius was traveling over the speed limit, police said.

The driver injured their face, but the injuries were not life-threatening, according to police. They were transferred to Mosaic Life Care by Buchanan County EMS. All parties involved were wearing seatbelts.
