One hospitalized, one jailed after family argument leads to a shooting in Biloxi

A man was shot in Biloxi on Sunday when a family argument turned violent.

Biloxi Police first received a call around 8:13 p.m., reporting a fight between two family members in the 900 Block of Greater Avenue.

As officers responded, more calls came in about the fight and a gunshot heard in the area.

Officers found a male in his 30s with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.

LaAlton Darnell Cooley, 25, of Gulfport, was arrested on scene and is charged with aggravated assault.

Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set Cooley’s bond at $250,000. He was taken to the county jail.
