One person was killed and two others were injured after a head-on crash Wednesday night on East Broad Street at the intersection with North Waggoner Road on the city's Far East Side.

Columbus police report the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. as a Honda Odyssey minivan and a Toyota Corolla were both stopped on East Broad Street in the eastbound left turn lane to turn onto North Waggoner Road.

A Chevy Captiva Sport that was headed west on East Broad Street crossed the centerline and struck the Odyssey head-on, pushing the Odyssey back into the Corolla.

Police said the driver of the Captiva, 59-year-old Andrew Fulston, of Reynoldsburg, was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Dilcia Fuentes, 40, of Blacklick, the driver of the Odyssey, and Nikita Ghimere, 25, of Blacklick, the driver of the Corolla, were both taken to Mount Carmel East in stable condition.

The crash, which is the sixth fatal crash in Columbus in 2022, remains under investigation.
