One person was killed and several injured, including three children, during a fiery vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 18 and 138, northwest of Pinon Hills.

California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the wreck, which occurred at around 1:12 a.m. on Sunday, the CHP reported.

The incident occurred just west of the Victor Valley area, which is located in San Bernardino County.

Preliminary information by the CHP revealed that the collision, between a gray and black sedans, involved one vehicle being T-boned and catching fire.

People at the scene attempted to pull a individual out of a vehicle that was on fire but were unsuccessful, authorities reported.

A child and an adult who were critically injured, and a child with minor injuries were airlifted to hospitals. Another adult and child with minor injuries were transported to a hospital by ground.

The Los Angeles County Coroner has not identified the person killed in the collision.

Details, including the cause of the incident, are being investigated by the CHP Palmdale office.
