Police identify passenger killed in Sunday morning crash in Norwalk

One person died and three others were injured after excessive speeding allegedly led to a serious crash in Norwalk on Sunday morning, according to police.

Police responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Drive near Lowe Street for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash after 8 a.m. on Sunday. Responders located a crash scene with four injured adult occupants, including one that was ejected from the vehicle.

The ejected passenger, identified as Oscar Valdovinos of Norwalk, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Emergency services transported the driver and two of the passengers to Norwalk Hospital. They are expected to make full recoveries, police said.

Police said there was a large amount of debris near the crash site. A portion of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive was closed while police investigated.

Investigators believe that excessive speeding was a contributing factor in the crash based on preliminary findings, police said.
