The Actor has been a known environmentalist and among other things his choice of cars just shows he practices what he preaches. All his set of wheels are green cars that either are full electric or at least hybrids.
Can there possibly be anything better than an electric sports car? That is exactly what the Tesla Roadster is. The Roadster was the first production car to use lithium-ion battery cells. It is also the first all-electric production vehicle to travel almost 400 kms on a single charge. The 2-door battery electric vehicle reaches a speed of 100 kms/hr from stationary in just 3.7 seconds.

The Karma is a range-extended electric vehicle driven by a pair of 161 hp electric motors and a front-mounted 260-hp, 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine sourced from General Motors. The Karma includes as standard a solar paneled roof to aid the cabin climate control system. The solar roof is capable of generating a half kilowatt-hour a day and is estimated to provide up to 6 to 8 km of additional range a week. It reaches 0-100 kph in less than 6 seconds. DiCaprio has also been a brand Ambassador and an investor for Fisker Automotive, a California based startup that sells Karma plug-in Hybrid.
When DiCaprio is not going around in Sports cars like the Tesla Roadster and Fisker Karma, he uses the modest yet practical Toyota Prius. The full hybrid electric mid-sized hatchback has been a popular car with the Environmentalists across the globe. The Prius is one of the most efficient hybrids in the world requiring under 4 litres of fuel to run 100 kms. It has a 1.8-liter gasoline engine that generates 98 hp and that when merged with added power of the electric motor generates a total of 134 hp. In constructing the Prius, Toyota used a new range of plant-derived ecological bio-plastics, made out of cellulose derived from wood or grass instead of petroleum.
