21-year-old man dead after triple shooting near a Home Depot, Miami-Dade cops say

A Tuesday daylight shooting at a bus stop next to a Hialeah Gardens Home Depot killed a 21-year-old and put two people in critical condition, Miami-Dade police said.

On Wednesday morning, police publicly identified the dead man as Matthew Stringer.

Crime scene tape crossed one of the entrances to The Home Depot at 13895 W. Okeechobee Rd. on Tuesday afternoon. Around 2:20 p.m., police said, the gunman walked up to the Hialeah Transit bus stop, fired shots and ran. The other two men shot, a 66-year-old and a 38-year-old, were airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a hospital.

A witness told Local 10 News that while at the bus stop, the shooter stood near the victim, as if waiting for the bus, before suddenly firing at him and running off.

Hialeah has opened a third COVID vaccination site. It’s now for Pfizer and Moderna
