One man robbed her at gunpoint while the other waited in the car, cops say

Police are searching for two men who they say robbed a woman at gunpoint in the Tower Shops in Davie a month ago.

The armed robbery took place at roughly 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 10, according to the Davie Police Department.

An incident report says the woman was getting out of her Mercedes-Benz near the 1900 block of South University Drive when a man she didn’t know approached her and pointed a black pistol at her groin. She screamed for help, then struggled with the robber as he tried to grab her designer handbag by Rebecca Minkoff.

The woman’s screams caught the attention of a passerby. He began to walk toward her car, but quickly retreated after the suspect told him, “Come any closer and I’ll blow your brains out,” according to police.

Police say the man eventually grabbed the handbag, jumped into a nearby vehicle and fled. It’s unclear whether the robber was the passenger or the driver, but police said another man was waiting inside the vehicle.

A short time later, the suspects tried to use the stolen credit cards at a nearby mall, the report says. Surveillance footage from later that evening shows them at a Champs Sports.
