It’s been 80 years since French aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry released “The Little Prince,” and the beloved classic is still being read by multiple generations.

The tale of an inquisitive blond boy on a faraway planet who befriends a stranded pilot (the narrator) is one of the most read works in the world, having sold close to 200 million copies, and been translated into hundreds of languages.

The tale of the wise beyond his years space traveler who has visited planets all ruled by unreasonably rigid adults was meant to be a commentary on a rigid, strict society. But today, it can serve as a wake-up call to not take things so seriously once we get past the age of 21.

“Growing up is not the problem,” the prince famously says in the book, “forgetting is.”

Through Dec. 31 at a popup exhibit on Watson Island, you’ll be able to introduce your kids (and re-introduce yourself) to this timeless work in a really neat way. The Little Prince World is an immersive, Instagrammable adventure that brings the beloved masterpiece back to life.

Guests are able to enter the Little Prince’s realm through dramatic projections, virtual reality technology and cool visuals. There’s the large, red model of the pilot’s crashed airplane; statues of the mysterious, messy haired hero; as well as a 45 foot high dome of visual storytelling, which transports you from Biscayne Bay to the stark, sandy landscape seen in many of Saint-Exupéry’s ethereal illustrations.

“Prepare to embark on an unparalleled journey where the boundaries of imagination fade away,” reads the description. “You’ll discover the magic of friendship, the beauty of love, and the importance of seeing the world through the eyes of a child.”
