One person dead after fiery Sunday crash near Cohoctah Road

COHOCTAH TWP. — Police say one person died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash and fire near the intersection of Oak Grove and Cohoctah roads.

According to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on Oak Grove Road, south of Cohoctah Road, when it went off the road and struck a tree.

The truck caught fire after the crash. When Livingston County sheriff's deputies arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed.

The driver died at the scene, police said. Further details about the driver are being withheld by the Sheriff's Office until they are identified and the family is notified.

The Howell Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS also responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Traffic Bureau.
