One person dead following shooting on Columbus' South Side
One person is dead following a shooting Thursday afternoon in the Karns Park neighborhood on Columbus' South Side.
Columbus 911 dispatchers said that they received a call at around 3 p.m. on a report of a shooting at Heyl and Reinhard Avenues, south of East Whittier Street. Responding officers found one person suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead by medics at 3:08 p.m., police said.
No other information, including whether any suspect was in custody, was immediately available. Homicide detectives were on scene and are investigating the slaying.
