One person dies after domestic stabbing incident in Jacksonville

One person is dead after a domestic stabbing incident in Jacksonville on Sunday.

Jacksonville Police responded to a domestic disturbance around 5:15 p.m. at the Rodeway Inn & Suites located at 2149 N Marine Blvd., according to a release from Jacksonville Public Safety.

When officers arrived on scene, the release stated, they discovered one person suffering from a stab wound. The person, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune where they later died from their injuries.

“This investigation is still open and active and no arrests have been made at this point," said Investigative Services Supervisor Captain Mike Capps in the release. "Investigators are working with the District Attorney’s Office as they continue to put together the events from this incident."
