One person injured after fire at Round Rock home

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Firefighters in Round Rock said one person was injured Thursday after a fire at a home.

According to the Round Rock Fire Department, a man called 911 at approximately 3 a.m. for a living room fire in the 800 block of East Palm Valley Blvd.

Firefighters said the man sustained non-life-threatening burns to the tops of his hands.

The fire chief said the cause of the fire was unknown, and investigators were waiting for the sun to rise to go inside and look around.

According to RRFD, there was no damage to any neighboring businesses.

First responders said Hwy. 79 was shut down in order to access the house and the fire hydrant across the street.

The Round Rock Police Department also assisted with traffic, shutting down the eastbound and westbound lanes of Heritage Center Circle to north Georgetown St., which have since reopened.
