One person injured in Ukraine Embassy blast in Madrid

“An envelope arrived at the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain. During the inspection, the envelope exploded in the commandant’s hands. The commandant received minor injuries, now he is in hospital, getting the necessary medical assistance. There are no threats to his life,” Nikolenko said.
Spanish law enforcement officers are working at the scene. The rest of the embassy staff were not injured.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba instructed the respective services to urgently step up security at all Ukrainian embassies abroad.
He also asked his Spanish counterpart to take urgent measures to investigate the attack on the Ukrainian diplomatic mission. Spanish law enforcers and a bomb disposal squad are already on the scene.
“The minister also emphasized that whoever was behind this explosion – they will not be able to intimidate Ukrainian diplomats or halt their daily efforts to make Ukraine stronger and counter Russian aggression,” Nikolenko said.
According to media reports, the explosion occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 30. One person received minor injuries and was able to get to the hospital on his own.
