One person killed in head-on collision in Princeville
One person is dead after a head-on vehicle collision on Illinois Route 91 in Princeville on July 30.
Robert Renken, a 66-year-old from Princeville, had "multiple blunt-force trauma injuries due to the collision." He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 8:30 p.m., according to the Peoria County Coroner's Office. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria in stable condition.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash at around 7:31 p.m.
According to the coroner's office, Renken apparently crossed into the southbound lane while driving. The reason is still unknown, and Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate.
