One person was killed and two others were wounded in a series of Russian shelling and guided aerial bomb attacks in Kherson Oblast over the past day, the regional military administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported on Telegram on Feb. 28

More than 20 settlements, including the administrative center of Kherson, came under fire, causing damage to residential areas, high-rise buildings, private houses, a farm, numerous cars, and an elevator.

A cargo ship was hit in Kherson. And the nearby village of Zelenivka was targeted with a guided aerial bomb.

The State Emergencies Service posted a video on Telegram showing the aftermath of the overnight attacks in which two private houses caught fire.

One man was seriously injured, Kherson Governor Roman Mrochko reported on Telegram on Feb. 28, adding that the community was shelled 22 times in one day.

The liberated part of Kherson Oblast is regularly shelled by the enemy. On Feb. 27, Prokudin reported that an 82-year-old woman was killed by shelling in the village of Veletynske.

"One of the strikes hit a residential building. An 82-year-old woman died on the spot from her wounds," he wrote.
