Update: Mansfield man identified as driver killed in Richmond Township crash on July 21

Pennsylvania State Police say a Mansfield man was killed July 21 in a two-vehicle crash in Tioga County.

Mansfield-based troopers said the collision occurred on Route 6, about 350 feet south of Route 549 in Richmond Township.

According to crash investigators, a westbound 2019 Honda Civic went out of control for unknown reasons at about 5 a.m., crossed the double yellow lines in the roadway and collided with an eastbound 2008 Dodge Ram.

Police said the driver of the Honda Civic, 22-year-old Justin D. Shedd, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tioga County Coroner's Office.

No detailed information was released on the condition of the second driver.

Troopers said both vehicles came to rest on the north side of Route 6, with each sustaining extensive front end damage from the collision.

State Police said the the crash took place on a two-lane paved road with two solid yellow lines separating the travel lanes. It is posted for 55 miles per hour, crash investigators said.
