Driver sought after man struck in Sacramento hit-and-run dies from his injuries
A man who was struck in a hit-and-run collision Sunday morning on a busy Sacramento street has died from his injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Richard Cortez, 52, of Glendale. Cortez died he was struck by a vehicle on Franklin Boulevard between 26th and 27th avenues in Sacramento’s North City Farms neighborhood around 6 a.m.
Sacramento police closed the stretch of Franklin to traffic in both directions for several hours to investigate and offered few details, but said the driver had fled the scene.
