One seriously injured in head-on collision

Dec. 18—One man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Harrison County, two miles north of Gilman City, Missouri.

Francisco Prior Cruz, 34, of Gilman City, was southbound on Missouri 146 in a 2001 Chevrolet S10 when his vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and struck a car driven by Joseph T. Tate, 20, of Gilman City, head-on.

Tate was northbound in a 2011 Chevrolet Impala at the time of the collision, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels in the northbound lane of Missouri 146.

Cruz was transported to Harrison County Community Hospital for serious injuries. Tate had minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Cruz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and Tate was wearing one, the report stated.
