One summer to rule them all? Cleveland Orchestra to screen ‘Lord of the Rings,’ ‘Indiana Jones’ at Blossom

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WJW) — Summer is coming … someday … the calendar promises anyway.

When that warm and enchanting season returns, the Cleveland Orchestra is bringing two big film screening events — we’re talking “Indiana Jones” and “Lord of the Rings” — to Blossom Music Center, along with a handful of other delightful concerts.

Northeast Ohio concerts you shouldn’t miss in 2024

Starting off the summer series on June 29-30, fans can watch “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the first film in the adventure-filled franchise, as Sarah Hicks leads the orchestra through the score.

Then, under the direction of Ludwig Wicki, the orchestra accompanies the film screening of “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King,” the third movie in director Peter Jackson’s original Hobbit-filled series, on Aug. 2-4. The Blossom Festival Chorus and Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus are also a part of this concert.

Aug. 31- Cirque Goes Broadway (Akron Symphony Orchestra, not Cleveland Orchestra)

As ever, take note that kids under 18 are free on the lawn with the purchase of an adult ticket and that concert-goers are allowed to bring in food and beverages for an optimal picnic experience.
