One suspect charged, another remains at large in Thibodaux armed robbery

One suspect has been arrested and another is being sought in connection with an armed robbery in Thibodaux Sunday afternoon.

Jayden Woods, 18, of Houma, is charged with attempted armed robbery, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities are still searching for an unidentified second suspect.

Deputies were called out around 1 p.m. to a pavilion in the Live Oaks subdivision in Thibodaux after two teenagers reported a black car pulled up to them as they were walking, authorities said.

One of the men inside the car pointed a gun at the teens and demanded “whatever they had on them,” the Sheriff’s Office said. One of the teens ran and the driver of the car drove away from the area.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Woods as one of the suspects and took him into custody Sunday afternoon, authorities said. He also faces multiple drug-related and domestic violence charges in Terrebonne Parish.

He was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail, where he is being held on $250,000 bail.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to submit and anonymous Crime Stoppers tip at 1-800-743-7433 or online at crimestoppersbr.org.
