PEORIA − A $100,000 winning lottery ticket was sold in Metamora this week.

According to the Illinois Lottery website, the ticket was sold on Nov. 2 at the Metamora IGA, 610 W. Mt. Vernon St. Further details were not available. To win $100,000, a person had to match four numbers and the Powerball with Power Play. Three tickets, including the one in Metamora, did that on Wednesday night.

Nine others statewide matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000 each.

No one hit the jackpot Wednesday night and the Powerball grand prize is now about $1.5 billion, which would be second-largest payout in Powerball history and the third largest jackpot overall, the Illinois Lottery website stated.

Powerball tickets are $2 each, and players have the option to add the Powerplay for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.  Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. (CT).
