One of the world’s largest jewelry retailers opening another Johnson County location

International chain Pandora Jewelry plans to open a store in Leawood’s Town Center Plaza in September — its second in Johnson County and fourth in the Kansas City area.

The store will be on the center’s south side at 5230 W. 119th St. (between Tempur-Pedic and Scout & Molly’s Boutique), according to a spokeswoman for the shopping center.

It will move into the former site of the Array clothing store, which closed in January.

Pandora will join several other jewelry stores in the shopping center, including Helzberg Diamonds at 5270 W. 119th St. and Brighton Collectibles at 5064 W. 119th St.

The Danish jewelry brand, selling rings, bracelets and necklaces, first opened in Copenhagen in 1982. The company began designing charm bracelets in 2000 and is one of the largest jewelry retailers in the world.

Pandora has locations in Oak Park Mall at 11239 W. 95th St. No. 28, the Country Club Plaza at 421 Nichols Road and Independence Center at 18801 E. 39th St.
