Oneida County Sheriff: No explosives found following bomb threat at Rome Walmart

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bomb threat made late Friday night at the Rome Walmart.

The store, located at 5815 Taberg Road, received a call from a man at about 10:20 p.m. stating there was a bomb in the store, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

The store was evacuated and K9 explosives detection units from the sheriff's office, Utica Police Department and New York State Police were called in. No explosives were located and the store was reopened around 2 a.m., the release said.

Deputies say the investigation into the threat is still ongoing.
