Oneida Indian Nation launches its first cannabis operation. Here's what you need to know
Area residents are now able to purchase marijuana at Verona Collective, the Oneida Indian Nation’s first seed-to-sale cannabis operation.
The dispensary offers products including cannabis flower, pre-rolls, edibles and concentrates through its own brands: Trim & Proper, CNY Provisions, Humble & Kind and Fair Shake.
The store is located at 5250 Willow Place, across the street from Turning Stone Resort & Casino, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
What and how to buy at Verona Collective dispensary
Guests can purchase up to three ounces of cannabis flower daily, as well as pre-rolls in 1-gram individual and 5-pack options from Verona Collective brands. Additional cannabis products, including chocolates, gummies and vapes, are soon to follow.
The Verona Collective accepts payment via cash and debit card only, an ATM is available inside the dispensary.
There is an option to order ahead of time for in-store pick up, though all guests must be 21 or older to enter and display a valid physical government-issued ID.
The Oneida Indian Nation plans to open a second dispensary in Verona this spring and more in the next 12 to 18 months, officials said.
Is Verona Collective dispensary hiring?
Less than a mile down the road from the Verona Collective marijuana plants are grown, processed, and packaged in a 50,000-square-foot cultivation facility. There are 70 employees on the team; 50 tend to the plant nursery and 20 work retail, Nation officials said.
The Oneida Indian Nation wants area residents to know they are still hiring — with preference given to Turning Stone employees.
“Nearly one-third of our hires were internal,” disclosed Joel Barkin, Oneida Indian Nation vice president of Communications. “As we create more facilities we’re looking for more employees to join our guest service team.”
In the meantime, Ryan Riggs, Turning Stone Enterprises vice president for retail, urges locals to join the Turning Stone team.
“It’s a great way to receive a first look at these opportunities and to build the skills we’re looking for throughout Verona Collective: exceptional customer service, strong communication and collaboration, flexibility and more.”
