Only Yesterday In Ocean City Permanently Closing Due To COVID
OCEAN CITY, NJ — Only Yesterday will soon become a memory. The Ocean City antique and collectables store will close permanently.
Ownership cited the coronavirus and personal health factors as reasons for closing the 1137 Asbury Ave. shop. They will hold a "demolition sale" Saturday.
Only Yesterday opened in 1987 on the boardwalk, selling a unique blend of antiques and oddities from decades past. The business moved from the boardwalk to downtown in 2018. Related article: Only Yesterday Leaving Ocean City Boardwalk After 31 Years
Through the years, Only Yesterday developed a following and became a favorite for visitors.
"Your boardwalk store was my son’s favorite store," one Facebook commenter said. "Every summer he loved looking through all of your baseball memorabilia- especially your vintage Phillies stuff."

Several longtime Ocean City businesses have closed or announced closure during the pandemic. After 30 years, Beach House Grille will close its Ocean Avenue location Nov. 22. Philly Twist Pretzel and Grille announced closure on the boardwalk in May.
