OnMilwaukee purchases four food fests from Swarmm Events, which is owned by a Milwaukee mayoral candidate

OnMilwaukee.com, LLC has purchased four food fests from Swarmm Events, which is owned and founded by Milwaukee mayoral candidate Michael Sampson.

The events are Donut & Coffee Fest, Milwaukee Taco Fest, Milwaukee Wing Fest and Milwaukee BBQ Fest.

“I am excited to have grown these events to the point where a great company like OnMilwaukee can take them over and continue to grow them for the city of Milwaukee," Sampson said in a news release.

These four events will be operating under the newly-formed Yellow Bridge Events, LLC, a brand extension of OnMilwaukee, the news release said. The company will use the events to grow its promotions, event marketing and consulting division.

“We’re a part of the fabric of our community, and connecting with our readers through in-person and virtual events allows us to grow our reach in new and exciting ways," Andy Tarnoff, OnMilwaukee's president and founder, said in the news release.

Swarmm will continue to operate Milwaukee Oktoberfest, 12 Bars of Christmas and Shamrock Shuffle, which is scheduled for March 5.

Sampson, a newcomer to city politics, said he had political aspirations for a while and decided to jump into the race after advocating against the city's restrictions and fines on businesses at the height of the pandemic, according to a previous Journal Sentinel report.
